About Us

The Plis Chronicler was founded in 2023 to share our passion for Albanian historical facts, which are often manipulated in the media. We wanted to create this channel as our space to present the truths clearly making them easy to find and understand.

The channel was originally created by us, Franc Ribaj and Armand Jasa, as a simple project. Our shared passion for the unique history of Albania has brought us to where we are today—to share these facts with you.

At first, we didn’t have high expectations; the channel was mostly a space to share our thoughts on historical truths. But after seeing people’s reactions, we began to see the first sparks of a vision for The Plis Chronicler. We started producing more refined videos, raising our standards to offer a better experience for the early supporters who encouraged us. Our fourth video, “The Second Siege of Kruja (1466)“, surprised us with its view count, especially since we were just a modest channel with no expectation of growing. After that moment, our focus on building something serious and meaningful around the channel grew stronger.

Because the demand for videos was so high, there were moments when both of us felt discouraged due to the time and effort required to run the channel. Samanta Ribaj, with her extensive background in marketing, became a game-changer in elevating the professional standards we could achieve in video editing. Currently, she is the only full-time member of the team. Since “Ali Pasha Challenges Napoleon – The Battle of Preveza, Part 1”, she has renewed our entire documentary brand—including full video documentaries, our new logo, new video thumbnails—and manages all platform adjustments.

It’s incredible to us that she is the driving force behind our animations and design concepts. Since we create all the content ourselves, it has been hard to support her full-time because she often consults us for confirmation and clarification on historical details she isn’t sure about. Often, we find time during our main jobs to guide her whenever she needs help understanding scripts we have written. Time has been our biggest challenge.
